Halloweddings...

October 30, 2018

Halloween is tomorrow, so you better be prepared! Falling smack dab in the middle of autumn, October 31 is a popular wedding date with a certain connotation. Think of a Halloween themed wedding, and tacky images of candy corn, plastic pumpkins, and Addams Family clones instantly come to mind. But we're saying, "Boo!" to all that, because even if your wedding is on or near October 31, you can certainly embrace the holiday; just make sure that you any obvious references to it. While your Halloween wedding may not be all witches, ghosts and ghosts, there are a few subtly spooky elements you can add to your day without sacrificing style or elegance. These Halloween wedding ideas are a real treat!

Now is the time to plan your 2019 Hallowedding!

A Classical Halloween Wedding:

Incorporating an orange and black color scheme, Tamara and Jason's wedding truly captured the essence of Halloween. The men donned classic orange ties before changing into hilarious pumpkin ones for the reception. Mini pumpkins were used as escort cards, and skulls made surprise appearances throughout the room's décor. The dramatic centerpieces were adorned with branches and hanging candles. And, of course, no Halloween theme wedding is complete without a candy buffet.

A Rustic Halloween Wedding:

We're so impressed by the attention to detail at Aspen and Brad's wedding! From the outdoor ceremony space to the luxuriously-decorated reception locale, their wedding was stunning from start to finish. The bride wore fairy wings that perfectly complemented her bridal look, and the adorable flower girls carried pumpkins down the aisle. Their laid-back vibe included games (tic-tac-toe with pumpkins, pumpkin bowling, and more) and a Halloween scavenger hunt for the kids.

A Hollywood Inspired Halloween Wedding:

Thomas and Patricia's theme was inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the Burtonesque details added to the spook factor of their Halloween wedding. After the ceremony, the couple and their bridal party headed to a cemetery for some creepy/cool photos. The reception chairs resembled spider webs, and their whimsical wedding cake was the perfect fit.

A Vintage Halloween Wedding:

Guests all donned costumes to Lyndsay and Michael's vintage-inspired Halloween wedding — including the officiant! Lyndsay's bold red gown fit in perfectly with her theme. And, of course, guests were treated to a candy buffet at the end of the night.

A "Night on the Town" Themed Halloween Wedding:

Laurin and Brett converted an outdoor space into a modern lounge with a cool vibe, featuring subtle Halloween details throughout. Guests loved the elaborate trick-or-treat candy buffet. And the party kept going after the reception: Laurin and Brett threw a costume party, and you have to see the creative costumes their guests came up with!

A "Charmed" Halloween Wedding:

Kristen and David chose an old Victorian house for their "Hallowedding," which added to the day's spooky vibe. Guests got in the spirit with fun costumes, and from the coffin ring holder to the skeleton cake topper, the celebration gave off a wonderful haunted house vibe.

And of course, a Scary Halloween Wedding:

Reminiscent of a haunted house, Erin and Eric's handcrafted Halloween wedding featured various stages and setups to build anticipation as the evening progressed. The ceremony began on the outdoor lawn before guests retreated inside The Cooper House for an eerie dinner beneath dangling witches hats. After dinner, everyone was ushered into the old general store on property for a hauntingly good time at the reception.
